Welcome to The Garage Studio & Arts ("The Garage Studio," "we," "our," or "us"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of our website, www.thegaragestudio.art, and any purchases, memberships, classes, workshops, studio reservations, or services offered by The Garage Studio.
By accessing our website or purchasing any product or service, you agree to these Terms.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to enter into a purchase or membership agreement. Minors may participate in classes or programs only with the consent of a parent or legal guardian.
2. Classes, Workshops & Events
Registration is accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
Your registration is confirmed once payment has been successfully processed.
The Garage Studio reserves the right to:
Cancel or reschedule a class or workshop.
Substitute instructors when necessary.
Adjust class size or curriculum to maintain a safe and effective learning environment.
If The Garage Studio cancels a class, participants will receive either a refund or a credit toward a future class, at our discretion unless otherwise required by law.
3. Memberships
Memberships provide access only to the benefits described at the time of purchase.
Membership benefits, schedules, pricing, and studio hours may change periodically.
Memberships are personal and may not be transferred or shared without written approval.
Recurring memberships automatically renew until canceled in accordance with the Membership and Refund Policy.
4. Studio Access
Open Studio access is intended for individuals who have demonstrated the ability to work independently and safely.
The Garage Studio reserves the right to deny or revoke Open Studio privileges if a member:
Uses equipment unsafely
Creates unsafe working conditions
Harasses or disrupts other members
Damages studio equipment
Violates studio policies
Loss of Open Studio privileges does not automatically entitle the member to a refund.
5. Studio Safety
Participants agree to follow all posted safety rules and instructor directions.
This includes proper use of:
Pottery wheels
Kilns
Glazes
Hand tools
Clay recycling systems
Ventilation equipment
Chemical materials
Failure to comply with safety requirements may result in removal from the studio.
6. Personal Responsibility
Ceramics involves inherent risks, including cuts, burns, lifting injuries, exposure to dust, and the use of heated equipment.
Participants agree to exercise reasonable care while using studio facilities.
Participants should immediately notify staff of any unsafe condition or injury.
7. Artwork
Students retain ownership of artwork they create.
However:
Pottery is an unpredictable process.
Clay may crack.
Glazes may run.
Kilns occasionally malfunction.
Finished pieces may warp, break, or otherwise be damaged during drying, firing, or handling.
While we take great care with every piece, The Garage Studio cannot guarantee successful results and is not responsible for damage that occurs as part of the normal ceramics process.
8. Storage of Work
Finished work should be collected within the timeframe communicated by the studio.
Pieces left beyond the stated pickup period may be:
recycled,
donated,
discarded, or
otherwise disposed of at the studio's discretion.
The Garage Studio is not responsible for storing artwork indefinitely.
9. Personal Property
Participants are responsible for their own tools, clothing, aprons, electronics, and other personal belongings.
The Garage Studio is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged personal property.
10. Purchases
Prices are listed in U.S. dollars.
We reserve the right to:
Correct pricing errors.
Modify pricing.
Limit quantities.
Cancel orders affected by technical errors.
Payment is due at the time of purchase unless otherwise stated.
11. Gift Cards
Gift cards may be redeemed for eligible products and services offered by The Garage Studio.
Gift cards are not redeemable for cash except where required by law.
Lost or stolen gift cards may not be replaceable.
12. Intellectual Property
All content on this website—including photographs, artwork, logos, graphics, text, videos, and class materials—is owned by The Garage Studio or used with permission.
No content may be copied, reproduced, distributed, or used commercially without prior written permission.
13. Website Use
You agree not to:
interfere with website operation,
attempt unauthorized access,
introduce malicious software,
scrape or copy website content without permission,
use the website for unlawful purposes.
14. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by Washington law, The Garage Studio shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from:
participation in classes,
use of studio facilities,
website use,
delays,
cancellations,
or product purchases.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability where such limitation is prohibited by law.
15. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless The Garage Studio, its owners, instructors, employees, volunteers, and contractors from claims arising from your misuse of the website or violation of these Terms.
16. Privacy
Your use of this website is also governed by our Privacy Policy.
17. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington.
Any legal action relating to these Terms shall be brought in the appropriate state or federal court located in King County, Washington, unless applicable law provides otherwise.
18. Changes to These Terms
The Garage Studio may update these Terms from time to time.
The revised version becomes effective when posted on our website.
Continued use of the website or services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
