Refund & Cancellation Policy

Effective Date: July 9, 2026

The Garage Studio & Arts strives to provide flexible scheduling while ensuring our instructors, staff, and studio resources can be planned responsibly.

This policy explains how refunds, cancellations, transfers, and membership billing are handled.

Classes

If you cancel:

  • 7 or more days before the first class, you may request a full refund or studio credit.

  • 3–6 days before the first class, you may request a studio credit or transfer to another class if space is available.

  • Less than 72 hours before the first class, class fees are generally non-refundable.

Workshops

Because workshops often involve advance preparation and limited seating:

  • Cancellations made at least 14 days before the workshop are eligible for a full refund or studio credit.

  • Cancellations made 7–13 days before may receive studio credit.

  • Cancellations made less than 7 days before the workshop are generally non-refundable unless we are able to fill your space from the waitlist.

Missed Classes

We understand that schedules change.

Missed classes are not refundable.

When space and staffing permit, we may offer a make-up session or Open Studio credit, but this is not guaranteed.

Waitlists

If a class is full, you may join a waitlist.

If a space becomes available, you will be contacted using the information provided during registration.

Once payment is completed, the standard cancellation policy applies.

Studio-Initiated Cancellations

If The Garage Studio cancels a class, workshop, or event due to instructor illness, low enrollment, weather, or unforeseen circumstances, participants may choose between:

  • A full refund, or

  • A transfer to another available class or workshop.

Memberships

Memberships renew automatically unless canceled.

To avoid being charged for the next billing cycle, cancellation requests must be received at least five (5) days before your renewal date.

Membership fees already charged are generally non-refundable unless required by law.

Gift Cards

Gift cards are non-refundable and may not be redeemed for cash except where required by applicable law.

Gift cards do not expire unless required by law.

Retail Merchandise

Unused merchandise in original condition may be returned within 30 days of purchase with proof of purchase, unless marked as final sale.

Used tools, opened materials, custom orders, and clearance items are not eligible for return unless defective.

Kiln Firing

Fees for kiln firing cover the firing service itself and are not a guarantee of successful results.

Because ceramics is an inherently unpredictable process, firing fees are non-refundable if work cracks, warps, breaks, or develops glaze defects during normal firing.

Refund Method

Approved refunds will generally be issued to the original payment method.

If that is not possible, studio credit may be issued.

Please allow reasonable processing time for refunds to appear, depending on your financial institution.

Exceptions

The Garage Studio reserves the right to make reasonable exceptions to this policy in cases involving emergencies or other exceptional circumstances.
