Meet Your Teacher!
Our co-owner/sole teacher, Monika, started her ceramic arts journey at Iowa State University in 2017. Her approach to pottery focuses on body positioning and sustainable use of materials. She studied under Ingrid Lilligren, who has been doing ceramics for over 60 years and is still a professor at Iowa State University.
Monika brings the knowledge, practical skills, and philosophy she learned in Ingrid’s studio. This, in combination with the lessons she’s learned while teaching at various studios in Fremont, Seattle since 2022 makes her an excellent teacher for all learning styles.
Her artistic focus combines traditional ceramics with the human form.
